This maintenance class is designed for trained Ride Leaders to learn additional skills that will help them to better support their riders when out and about on bike. We will cover elements of preventative maintenance, bike checks, and on-ride repairs.

This course would be broken down into the following units: 

• Getting to know your bike
• Puncture repair
• Brakes (adjusting and recognising wear on both rim and disc systems) 
• Gears and drivetrain (adjustment, maintenance and replacement)

We recommend that participants bring their own bike to work on during the course as this is the bike they're mostly likely to be fixing, however we will have plenty of other examples on hand to show other systems that might come up  

Our workshop is fully equipped, just bring yourself and a bike if possible. You're welcome to bring any tools that you would like to practice using or want to learn about.
Coffee and tea are available throughout the day but you will need to organise your own lunch. Our kitchen facilities include a fridge, microwave and kettle, plus there are many shops and cafes nearby.
