Welcome to BikeRight! West Midlands

The BikeRight! office in central Birmingham was opened in 2013 to provide a local base for the delivery of our three Local Sustainable Transport Fund contracts with Transport For West Midlands. In 2015 we are also delivering activities as part of Birmingham City Council's Big Birmingham Bikes project, and in 2016 with Groundwork's Workplaces On The Move project in Coventry and South Staffordshire Council's INTO travel projects.

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has an objective in its Cycling Charter to increase cycling to 5% of total journeys over the next ten years. This will be achieved through development of infrastructure and promoting cycling. BikeRight! and Aecom are working in partnership with TfWM and seven local authorities to provide free 'Cycle Smarter' activities to help you take up cycling, get back into cycling or give you the confidence to ride more often.

Big Birmingham Bikes is a ground-breaking initiative aiming to encourage people of all backgrounds to get cycling regularly. The scheme will bring 5000 free-to-use bikes to the residents of Birmingham.  Some will be given away to residents and others will be available for day-hire and longer-term hire from a network of Cycle Centres around the city.  We offer a range of free activities from these centres, including cycle training, maintenance classes and led rides.  To book these activities click on the boxes above

To qualify for free cycle training and free bicycle maintenance courses you have to be over 16 and live, study, work or use a station in one of the Smarter Choices areas.

Individuals, companies, schools, colleges or universities can benefit so there really is something for everyone.  If you would like to know if you are eligible for free Cycle Smarter activities then please get in touch.

More information about our activities in the West Midlands can be found by using the links above.
