It is my responsibility to ensure that my bicycle is roadworthy before attending the training session. If in any doubt concerning this I will consult a qualified Cycle Mechanic.
The Instructor(s) may refuse to train me if my bicycle is not roadworthy. Their decision is final. I will not be entitled to a refund if the training session cannot proceed due to an unroadworthy bicycle.
Instructors employed by Cycle Confident Ltd are not obliged to carry out repairs to make an unroadworthy bicycle, roadworthy.
I accept that the Instructors may at any time refuse to continue to train me if my behaviour or ability level is deemed to be unsuitable.
I understand that Cycle Confident Ltd is not responsible for any injury or loss or damage to any property not caused by an instructor's negligence.
I understand that if using a bicycle provided to me by my instructor or sponsoring Council I do so at my own risk and that Cycle Confident and the sponsoring Council are not liable for any personal injury or third party injury or property damage caused by my use of the bicycle.
Cycle Confident Ltd takes no responsibility whatsoever for any injury or any loss or damage to any property which occurs either on the way to or from a lesson or subsequent to lessons.
I understand that having taken training it does not necessarily follow that it is safe for me to ride a bicycle. To become proficient takes much more practice than lessons of this kind can provide.
I am responsible for the decision to wear a helmet during my lesson.
If I wear a helmet it must fit properly.
I am responsible for any injury that may occur as a consequence of wearing, or not wearing a helmet.
If I do decide to wear a cycle helmet it will conform to one of the following standards. BS6863, AS2063.86, ANSIZ90.4, SNELL B90 or B95.
I undertake to make the instructors aware of any medical condition I have which may adversely affect the training.
I understand that if bad weather prevents the lesson taking place Cycle Confident may reschedule at no further cost.
I understand that personal details held by Cycle Confident Ltd will be given to the organisation that is in whole or in part paying for my lesson and that the organisation may contact me to ask for details of the lesson and/or keep me informed of any cycling related activities it deems appropriate.
I understand Cycle Confident Ltd will keep all registered users of this website informed of any cycling related activities it deems appropriate.
I understand that occasionally it may be necessary to take images of those undertaking cycle training and that they may be used for publicity purposes.
I undertake to wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions expected during my lesson.
Instructors are not at liberty to amend the terms of this consent form.
I understand this consent form must be accepted before a training session commences and that a training session cannot take place if these terms and conditions are not agreed too. This consent form applies to any training organised by Cycle Confident Ltd.

Registering Children for Cycle Training:

Parent/Guardian, please read carefully:

Persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for any training session outside school unless consent is provided by the child's parent / guardian prior to the session commencing.
The application/consent form MUST be signed by the child's parent / guardian. Persons under 16 years of age MUST wear an approved cycle helmet while undertaking the training.
I understand this course is not designed to teach the basics of balancing and control.
Training takes place initially in the school playground, or other off-road site. If the trainees have reached the required standard they will then be taken out on to local roads for further on road training.
The instructor's decision is final with regards to the decision to take children out on to the road.
Training will cover all aspects of safer cycling, including recommended procedures for starting, stopping and turning left and right and to develop skills and basic strategies for dealing with traffic.
Persons under 16 years of age will wear the supplied high-visibility waistcoat.
The instructor will decline training if the trainee is unable to physically control the cycle.
Personal belongings are brought to the course at your own risk.
I agree that the instructor(s) can adjust my child's cycle if necessary.
I agree that my child will conduct him/herself in an appropriate manner and follow the directions of the instructor(s).
I understand that if bad weather prevents the lesson taking place Cycle Confident may reschedule at no further cost.
My child will be suitably dressed for cycling.
I understand that Cycle Confident Ltd is not responsible for any injury or loss or damage to any property not caused by an instructor's negligence.

Instructor Training (ITO)

Payment in full is due at time of registration. I understand that Cycle Confident Ltd reserves the right to cancel my registration at any time if payment has not been made in full.
I will notify Cycle Confident Ltd in writing if I cannot attend the training. If Cycle Confident receives notice prior to 28 days before the start date of the training, I will receive a full refund of the course fee. If Cycle Confident receives notice between 7 and 28 days prior to the start date of the training, I will not receive a refund but Cycle Confident may allow me to transfer the booking to the same training on a different date. If Cycle Confident receives notification within 7 days prior to the start of the training, Cycle Confident will not refund the course fees and I will not be allowed to transfer the booking to the same course on a different date.
Cycle Confident Ltd reserves the right to alter published programmes, trainings, fees or venues without prior notice. In the event of a course being cancelled by Cycle Confident, a refund of the course fee will be made but no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred.
I understand that completing the course does not guarantee that I will be offered work as a cycling instructor for Cycle Confident Ltd or other cycle training organisations.
It is my responsibility to bring a bicycle to the training session and to ensure that it is roadworthy. If in any doubt concerning this I will consult a qualified cycle mechanic prior to the training.
I accept that the instructor(s) may at any time refuse to continue to train me if my behaviour or ability level is deemed to be unsuitable. If I am dismissed from the training for these reasons, I understand that Cycle Confident Ltd will not refund my course fee.
I undertake to wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions expected during my training. In winter, this may include gloves, warm shoes, and a warm coat. Tight fitting trousers or jeans are not recommended.
I am responsible for the decision to wear a helmet during the training. If I wear a helmet it is must fit properly. I am responsible for any injury that may occur as a consequence of wearing or not wearing a helmet.
I understand that Cycle Confident Ltd is not responsible for any injury or loss or damage to any property not caused by an instructor's negligence.

Driver CPC training

Drivers MUST bring their Driving Licence (photo card) AND DQC card with them to the course. Training hours will not be uploaded until these documents have been verified.
Drivers must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the course starting in order to get their identification checked.
Where courses involve riding a bicycle for part of the day, Cycle Confident will provide roadworthy bicycles.
Helmets: Cycle Confident will provide helmets to British Standards. Helmets are mandatory and instructors will ensure that they are fitted correctly.
Clothing: Trainees must wear suitable clothing for cycling (tight fitting trousers/jeans are not recommended) and bring suitable clothing for the weather, including gloves, warm shoes, and a warm coat in the winter.
Cycle Confident Ltd will assess the trainee to ensure that the clothing is appropriate for cycling.
Cycle Confident are responsible for trainee safety. Instructors may at any time refuse to continue to train trainees if their behavior or ability level is deemed to be unsuitable.
Payment of non-funded Driver CPC course fees (including VAT and upload) must be made when registering online. The total should be paid through the online payment facility at least 24h before the course start date.
A site and on road survey will completed prior to training commencing by Cycle Confident. Where Driver CPC hours are required to be logged, an £8.75 per person driver upload fee will be charged to the company making the booking. Please note there is a 50p administration charge as well.
For funded Driver CPC courses where drivers will only incur an upload fee (when requested), drivers must pay the upload fee upon registration through the online payment facility.
If a driver, or their employer, has not been able to make a payment online, Cycle Confident will offer, at its discretion, the possibility for the driver or their employer to make alternative payment within 24h of the course completion.
If the payment has not been completed within 24h of the course completion date Cycle Confident reserves the right not to process the upload.
If an upload is requested after the standard 24h period a Delayed Upload Request form must be submitted via email. An administration fee of £20 applies to delayed upload requests. No delayed uploads will be processed if payment has not been received.
Trainees who fail to attend the course or cancel within 48hours will be subject to a cancellation charge of £55 ex VAT. This will be billed to the company making the booking.
Please note the following restrictions for TfL funded driver training courses apply:
1. Agency drivers must prove they are employed/about to be employed by a FORS accredited company
2. Drivers can only attend once in any three year period
3. Any driver attempting to attend the course more than once in a three year period will be turned away and charged our standard cancellation fee.
4. Any driver not employed by a FORS accredited company wishing to attend the Safe Urban Driving course should contact fors@tfl.gov.uk for alternatives.
Payment confirmations will be issued via email. Cycle Confident will issue an invoice if requested via email to dcpc@cycleconfident.com, stating the booking reference, trainee name, course date, course location, and license number
If an upload fee needs to be reimbursed (for example if the booking is cancelled more than 24h in advance or the driver fails to turn up), this will be processed only if requested via email to dcpc@cycleconfident.com, stating the booking reference, trainee name, course date and course location, and reason for reimbursement.
Cycle Confident reserve the right to cancel any course at their discretion.
Bad Weather: If bad weather prevents the lesson taking place we may reschedule at no further cost
If a paying trainee cancels the lesson within three working days of the lesson taking place the fee will be fully chargeable
