Greater Manchester is where it all started for BikeRight! 20 years ago and is the location of our head office. Our home in Salford is where we base and coordinate all of our business support services such as senior management, marketing, finance, IT and Human Resources.

Own the Ride

Transport for Greater Manchester have teamed up with BikeRight! to deliver a unique cycling experience for secondary school pupils aimed at encouraging cycling to school as well as cycling for leisure and fitness.

The one-and-a-half-day course is aimed at key stage 3 students and will provide:
 

An introduction to cycling for travel and leisure Route planning
Advanced cycle skills and group ride

Learn about plans to create the largest cycling and walking network in the UK

National Standards Cycle Training Evaluation and cycling action plan


As well as focussing on the skills required to ride to and from school, Own the Ride will encourage students to think about the bigger picture of active and sustainable travel and the mindset for increased physical activity. The courses are free to participating schools, funded by TfGM.

National Standards Cycle Training

A national training scheme backed by the Department for Transport and Bikeability. Split in to three levels the National Standards is designed to enable safe and responsible everyday journeys on all types of roads.

Made to Move

To double and then double again cycling in Greater Manchester and make it the natural choice for as many short trips as possible by building one of the world’s best cycle networks, and create a genuine culture of cycling and walking.

The Bee Network

Bee Network are cycling routes that get people from A to B, connecting communities across the whole of Greater Manchester.  They can be a fully segregated route, or a network connected via a series of crossing points on quieter roads.

TfGM is the local government body responsible for delivering Greater Manchester’s transport strategy and commitments covering active and sustainable travel, trams, buses and trains.
