BikeRight! has been awarded the The Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility for its commitment to an action plan to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of Birmingham’s citizens.
Commenting on the award, Beccy Marston, BikeRight! Operations Manager said: “This is great news Birmingham that we hope demonstrates our commitment to our staff, the local communities and people who live in them. We are in the midst of building and maintaining hundreds of give away and day-hire bikes as part of the Big Birmingham Bikes and Birmingham Cycle Revolution Programmes, things are very busy here in the Birmingham office.”
Councillor Stewart Stacey, Cabinet Member for Commissioning, Contracting & Improvement states: “I am delighted to congratulate BikeRight!s recent achievement of meeting the standard and would like to thank them for taking this valuable step forward and joining the club of those who sign up to the Birmingham way of doing business. “
The Charter includes various commitments that companies need to adhere to, including paying invoices on time, paying the living wage, employing local people, gaining Investor in People accreditation and supporting community projects.
BikeRight! is a delivery partner of Centro and plays a key part in the Smart Network, Smarter Choices programme, providing cycle training, bicycle maintenance courses, business engagement and community cycling projects across the West Midlands area, working in partnership with consultancy firm Aecom.
