Eligibility
Fix and Ride is a subsidised 2.5-hour basic maintenance and cycle skills session which is for those who want to learn how to look after their bike and carry out simple maintenance as well as pick up some tips and advice on riding technique.
Participants pay a non-refundable £5 fee and receive a set of tyre levers on attendance.
Learn about your bike
Participants will learn:
- About the parts of your bike and what they do
- What to check before you ride
- How to adjust the saddle, handlebars, brakes and gears
- How to mend punctures
Led by a bike maintenance expert, Fix and Ride will be in groups of up to 8 in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. It's a hands-on session to give confidence and skills necessary to keep bikes on the move.
Take a ride
At the end of the 2-hour session the group will take a 30-minute skills session with a qualified instructor and have the opportunity to sign up for free cycle skills sessions.
This course is subsidised by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. You must live, work or study in Liverpool City Region to be eligible for these subsidised courses.
Participants must bring their own bikes along and dress appropriately for working on a bike and doing a short ride.
