Every year we train around 20,000 children from year 5, 6 and 7 on all levels of the Bikeability and we have trained over 1800 Bikeability instructors across the UK.  Our current Bikeability delivery takes place in Manchester, Stockport, Rochdale, Merseyside, Warrington and Warwickshire.

Ensuring that quality is consistent can be a headache irrespective of whether the training is in-house or out-sourced. We partner with Local Authorities and education providers to make sure that Bikeability cycle training  is delivered to the very highest standards – in fact we can confidently claim to offer an unrivaled level of service, quality and availability.

We think of ourselves as strategic partners to our Local Authority clients, going beyond the delivery of quality cycle training. We strive to become a key part of cycling development and advocacy within the areas where we work.

Cycling proficiency for the 21st century

Bikeability is based upon the 3 levels of National Standard Cycle Training that were laid down by the government and several cycling organisations, including ourselves. BikeRight! are one of the leading providers of this type of cycle training in the UK and we also train many of the instructors that work throughout the country for Local Authorities and other companies.

The Bikeability levels

Level 1 is taught in a traffic-free environment, and children learn the basics of how to control their bike and make an off-road trip, for example on cycle paths.

Level 2 is covered on quiet roads but in real traffic conditions. Children achieving level 2 will be able to make a trip to school or elsewhere on small roads.

Level 3 incorporates busy roads, traffic lights, roundabouts and other advanced road features. Children will not usually be taught this until they start secondary school.
