Sefton Park

Sefton Park is a public park in south Liverpool, England. The park is in a district of the same name, located roughly within the historic bounds of the large area of Toxteth Park. Neighbouring districts include modern-day Toxteth, Aigburth, Mossley Hill, Wavertree and St Michael's Hamlet. This is a very popular park and is a mixture of green grassy areas and woodlands paths. This magnificent 235 acre park is a Grade 1 historic park in the Sefton Park district of Liverpool. It is a Green Flag and Green Heritage awarded site with beautiful features and monuments. An angling permit is required if fishing in the boating lake. The park is open 24 hours a day, all year round. Access may vary, depending on whether any major events are taking place. For Palm House opening hours, visit the website. From artisan fairs to tea dances, there's always something going on at the Palm House. You can access the park via Queens Drive, Greenbank Drive, Aigburth Drive, Lark Lane and Elmswood Road. There are a number of parking points around the park and some on street parking. A large playground featuring swings, slides, climbing frames, roundabout and multi play area. The Aviary Cafe serves a range of hot and cold drinks and refreshments. Or stop off by the Lakeside Cafe and grab a coffee or ice cream. From 'Old Nick's caves' to the beautiful Fairy Glen and Aviary viewing point, there's plenty of exploring to do and kids will love it. There are a number of statues and monuments in the park, including the Grade II listed Shaftsbury Memorial, Eros Fountain and Peter Pan statue. The bandstand, popular since the Victorian era, is said to be the inspiration for The Beatles' song Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.
