If the child has completed Module 1 at a younger age they will have the basic balance and scooting skills in place. Module 2 will take any KS1 child from balance bikes through to a pedal cycle.

By the end of the course participants will be able to teach KS1 children using balance bikes and progression onto pedal cycles.

Topics covered

  • Helmet fitting

  • Progressing to pedal cycles
  • Cycling games
  • Session planning and structure

PrePedal - UK and Europe

We run PrePedal courses across the whole of the UK and Europe, here's just a selection of our activities:

Greater Manchester, working with schools, nurseries and the Local Authorities to deliver PrePedal training in Pre-shools and reception classes.

Lancashire, training sports coaches in South Ribble who work in the area's leisure centres.

Merseyside, delivering weekly sessions to hundreds of reception class children across Liverpool, Sefton, Wirral, Bootle and St Helens.

France and Spain , working in partnership with Keycamp and Eurocamp training childrens-club staff and cycle hire reps. The first ever holiday-based cycle training initiative, launched in 2010.

Optional and additional training

PrePedal courses are designed for people who currently, or have in the past worked with children. If working with children is new to you then get in touch with us first to discuss a bespoke training package.

Remember that anyone wanting to work with children must have an enhanced CRB disclosure which is renewed every 3 years and they must comply with child protection regulations and guidance. If you are unsure about any of this please give us a call.
