More and more Freewheeling
BikeRight!s Freewheeling adult cycle training program has now being awarded funding from a number of additional partners including Merseytravel, Liverpool PCT, Newcastle City Council and Warrington Borough Council.
Building on Freewheeling’s success of the last two years in Manchester, where over 600 people received training, the initiative now aims to provide National Standards cycle training to a much greater audience.
People over the age of 16, who live, work or study in Manchester, Merseyside, Newcastle upon Tyne or Warrington will now be eligible for the free training sessions.
Liz Clarke, BikeRight! MD commented: “Freewheeling in Manchester proved that there was a latent demand for cycle training, especially at a basic level for people who were either returning to cycling or never learned to ride as a child.”

Freewheeling is available on 4 levels; learn-to-ride, level 1 which takes place away from roads, level 2 on quiet roads and level 3 on busy roads.
“The level 3 training is often delivered on a one-to-one basis using people’s actual routes to and from work or place of study. We have also seen individuals progress from learning to ride through to level 3!” added Liz.
More information about Freewheeling including available dates and times is available on the BikeRight! website at www.bikeright.co.uk/freewheeling
